Welcome to the New School Year at St. Patrick’s School!
It is my privilege to lead a team of incredible staff, students, parent committee and community. Working together, we are making this a great year of learning and friendship.
With fifty-four years of commitment to education excellence, St. Patrick’s is proud of its Catholic heritage and tradition of offering all students a well-balanced educational program. Through the development of faith in God, themselves and others, St. Patrick’s School endeavours to build hope for the future in each young person.
A developmentally appropriate curriculum addresses all core domains on a daily basis. Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies instruction is provided by B.C. College of Teachers certified staff following the B.C. Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines. Specialist teachers in the areas of Physical Education, French, Music and Band, as well as, Library and Technology specialists collaborate with general education teachers to provide a high quality, enriched education.
Class size is capped at 25 students and the small class size allows teachers to get to know their students well and tailor education plans to meet individual needs. Diversity in learning styles is addressed in teacher plans. Teachers modify and adapt assignments, allow time for one-on-one and small group instruction and refer students to the Learning Assistance specialist to accommodate the needs of identified students. Mathematics enrichment opportunities are provided at the intermediate and primary levels.
I invite you to visit and meet the young Christian Leaders of Tomorrow.
God Bless,
Deanne Paulson
Principal
